The LLM in International Law or the Master of Laws in India is a graduate level legal programme that takes the study of public and private international law as a basis. In general, the program is completed within a 2 - year span comprising of four semesters.

LLM International Law Course Eligibility 2024

1. Bachelor's Degree: You must have an LLB degree or any other discipline obtained with the approval of a recognized university.

2. Minimum Percentage: The majority of universities expect you to have ample of 50-55% aggregate score and corresponding grades when you finish your bachelor’s program. The best universities can call for marks of up to 60 or more.

3. Entrance Test: Upon admission, particular colleges may require their students to score a qualifying grades in the CLAT, LSAT India, or an established college-specific test.

4. English Proficiency: If your bachelor's program was not in English, you will certainly need to add recent language scores in IELTS, TOEFL or equivalent tests to match the program requirements. Minimum scores vary from 6.0 IELTS to 7.0 IELTS or the equivalent in each of the four components.

5. Letters of Recommendation: One of the most common requirements colleges ask for is two or three recommendation letters both from your professors and employers you've worked for and they can attest to your academic and professional skills.  

6. Statement of Purpose: The most essential part is your statement of purpose, which must be a seamlessly written document explaining your interests and the reason you have chosen the LLM program.

International Law Knowledge Test: Assesses candidates' knowledge and comprehension of basic principles, treaties and institutions in international law.
Legal Reasoning Exam: Measures the candidate's capacity to evaluate legal matters and analogize international legal principles to proposed scenarios.
Writing Assessment: Tests candidates' written communication skills via essays or legal memoranda on different topics of international law.
Interview: Evaluates such things as candidates motivation, academic qualification, and reasons for seeking an LL.M. program in international law.
