- Educational Qualification: The minimum qualification in a candidate must be a bachelors degree from any discipline from a well established university.
- Minimum Marks: For general category students the minimum aggregate marks in the graduation (i.e. 45% or 40% for SC/ST students) is a must.
- Entrance Test: Candidates should write a KSLUET or CLAT ( Common Law Admission Test) of Karnataka State Law University Entrance Test in order to meet the minimum required marks.

1. Entrance Exam
- KSLU administers KSLU-PGCET as its entrance exam which is mainly for the purpose of enrolling students in LLM and PhD programs. In this test, the examinee is evaluated in both legal knowledge and analytical skills.
2. Eligibility Criteria
- LLM is the minimum criteria to enter the LLB degree with the marks of no less than 55% (50% for SC/ST candidates).
- PhD candidate with the minimum required 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) and the Master's degree in Law.
3. Application Process
- Candidates interested must make an online registration on the University' s website in which the application form is provided when the notice is published.
- The applicants will be required to make online submissions on the website by uploading documents and paying application fees online.
4. Selection Process
- Short-term goals: I will participate in the IFX Language Exchange program for a year, focusing on improving my language proficiency.
- Students must compete academic performance and exam essay, and interview to get selected for PhD degree.
5. Counseling
- Then the defenders of the entrance exam include the announcement of merit list and shortlisted candidates who appeared to the document verification and counseling as per their rank before the documents for final admission.
