Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) is a State Government-run university with its main campus situated in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is known that the college has its origin in the year of 1966 and over one hundred educational institutions are affiliated to the university in the districts of Madurai, Virudhunagar, Dindigul, Theni, Ramnad, Sivaganga, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, and Kanyakumari. MKU boasts a variety of offerings covering a wide spectrum of disciplines; from art, science, education, law, management to business among others. To begin with, the enrollment for the MBA (Master of Business Administration) and MCA (Master of Computer Applications) programs is quite high. The MBA program targets areas such as marketing, finance, HR, analytics etc. on the other hand the MCA dwells on computer science intensive topics such as programming, networking, database management etc. The MBA examinations are held at odd semesters throughout the month of October-November for even semesters and vice versa for odd semesters. Admission for 2024 is set to kick-off around May 2023. Candidates will have to enroll in the webpage or through the offline mode and an entrance exam will be taken as a requirement. Admission will be conducted after qualifying marks are reckoned in entrance test and/or qualifying exam and the counselling sessions are held on June-July 2023. It can pride itself with the fact that since its creation, the university has produced more than 300 PhD graduates and has several collaborations with the most prominent national and international universities.}

Application Process

- Yearly university puts up an application process which leads to undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, PG diploma, and certificate program admissions. 

- Students will have to make their application forms by either online or offline within the officially set period. Some information like personal details (sometimes including scores and grades), program or course selection, etc. should be added to these contacts.

Eligibility Criteria

- The selection process may vary from program to program; it could be in the context of educational requirements, or the minimum percentage or scores in qualifying exams, or the age limit etc.

- The UG programs are expected to require the 12th class scores. PG candidates should obtain a bachelor's degree which is related to the specialization.

Entrance Exams

- In certain programs aspirants must give an admission test, which might be organized by the state/university level body. Whether it is a vocational, college or an IBT certification, the exam pattern and syllabus varies depending on the program.

Selection Process

- If the program is competitive and entrance examination results are the basis for admission, entrance examination results are taken into account while preparing the merit list. 

- The selection process may coincide with entrance examination results in case of some programs while the personal interviews can be conducted as part of the selection process in certain cases.

Counseling & Admission 

- The eligible candidates after the counseling reported as depending on schedule where the documents were confirmed, fees had been paid and seats were allocated depending on factors like their rank in the list prepared, quota etc.

- Students have to pay the admission fee after the number of seats they are entitled to is fixed.
