The BTech in Biotechnology is a 4-year undergraduate program that will cover the core concepts, and skills required for this field of biotechnology. One of many intense topics in the curriculum will be biomolecules, cell biology, immunology, molecular biology, genetic engineering, bioinformatics, bioprocess engineering, biophysics, microbiology, biochemistry and nanobiotechnology among others.

1. Eligibility - Applications are invited from students who have passed the 12th examination with Chemistry, Physics and Biology (core subjects) with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks. 

2. Entrance Tests - Reservation theses undertaken by the institutes of IITs, NITs, IIITs among others. Apart from that, many other colleges enable the students to appear for nationwide entrance exams such as JEE Main, CUCET.

3. Application Process - Applicants fill and submit online application through the virtual institute platform. 

4. List of criteria - The colleges arrange the student lists by orders of their entrance exam performance. Others in addition they start personal interviews and reckon class 12 PCM/PCB result before final judgment.  

5. The counseling - Here, shortlisted candidates must attend of counseling sessions. Allocated seat is a function of merit of the application, choices filled and vacancies available. 

6. Admission Confirmation - Following the submission and verification of the payment of the admission fee and the admission documents, allotment letter is given provisionally. Students will be confirmed as to being admitted to the BTech Biotechnology course.

BTech Biotechnology Course Eligibility 2024

1. Obtained Passing grade in grade 10+2 or better equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or biology as chosen subjects. Pass mark of 60% aggregate in the PCM/PCB group. 

2. Qualifying in national/state level entrance examinations like JEE(Main), NEET, the exams student can directly get into some institutes of higher learning without any further examination depending on their 10+2 scores.

3. Study apart from students of other degree programs such as BSc, Diploma in Engineering & Technology can also get entry into 2nd year of Biotechnology BTech program laterally.

B.Tech Biotechnology Entrance Exams

JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination Main): Compulsory for getting admission to undergraduate engineering programs in India including BTech Biotechnology. Tests candidate's knowledge of physics, chemistry, mathematics, and comprehension.

BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test): The entrance examination for admission to BTech programs at the BITS Pilani campuses. Covers physics, chemistry, mathematics, and English.

VITEEE (VIT Engineering Entrance Examination): This is promoted by Vellore Institute of Technology for admission to engineering courses. Exam covers physics, chemistry, mathematics, English, and aptitude.

SRMJEEE (SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination): Admission test for engineering courses at SRM Institute of Science and Technology campuses. The paper contains questions from physics, chemistry, mathematics, English, and reasoning.
