This degree program in the media field and journalism is offered through the BJMC and lasts for 3 years. The primary emphasis of the BJMC curriculum is to impart theoretical knowledge and practical skills in several domains of the mass media such as print journalism, radio broadcasting, TV video production, advertising, public relation, and others more.

In the BJMC course, in the first year of study, the students are familiarized with the fundamentals of mass communication principles and theories; besides they are getting good command of language along with writing skills. The year 2, continues with in-depth studies of essentials like print, radio, TV, electronic, PR and new media. The last year moves on the practical strategies by visiting the fields, trainings, researching projects, and also dissertation. Many of the college also keep the elective optional to opt one domain according to mood. 

Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication [BJMC] Admission Process

1. Eligibility - 10+2 pass in any stream with English as a core subject and with minimum 50% (45% for reserved categories). Acquisition of English and GK is a must.

2. Entrance Exams - Some colleges have put in place entrance tests. The main entrance exams are IPU CET, JNU SET, and CUET. Regarding the examination, check colleges for details. 

3. Application procedure - In either online or offline mode application form is to be filled out along with personal details such as academics, contact information and the preference of colleges. Enclose a packet that includes certificates of 10+2, pictures, etc.

4. Selection Criteria - The Entrance Examinations results usually determine the selection. Some colleges also take consideration of 10+2 marks and other grading, along with interviews. Seats are allotted to residents by means of counseling. 

5. Admission Communication - After all throughout selection process, just confirm your seat and formulate other admission requirements such as fee payment, document verification etc. during the stipulated time. And your doorway into MEM is on you.

Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication [BJMC] Eligibility

1. The candidate must be either a 10+2/intermediate pass or equivalent from any recognized board and securing at least 50% marks (45% for SC, ST, PWD, acts and 40% for candidates from border areas of the state).

2. Grasp of written and spoken English including grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehensively. Despite the fact that the colleges may check the level of language proficiency through entrance tests, there is another possibility that a person will be evaluated during the interview and while fulfilling their educational requirements as well.

3. The colleges for adults without age limitation open their doors for students of any age.

4. therefore, the applicant is required to prove that he/she is well prepared for college through various tests arranged by the college or university. Most probably there will be entrance exams twice a year such as CUET and CET.

5. Some institutes have a degree of advantage for students who have experience with blogs, journalism, creative writing and related extracurricular activities.

6. International students have to go through the same qualifying exams as their citizenship when they want to study in our college. After admission, they will start applying for student visas which is the sequential immigration procedure for international students.


Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication [BJMC] Entrance Exams

IIMC Entrance Exam: The Indian Institute of Mass Communication conducts an entrance exam for its Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication program which tests of willingness in the fields of current affairs, general knowledge, writing skills, and media awareness.

DUET: DUET is an entrance exam organised by the Delhi University for admission into the university's BJMC program with subjects such as English, General Awareness, Media Aptitude, and Current Affairs.

SET: Symbiosis Entrance Test evaluates candidates for the Symbiosis Centre for Media and Communication undergraduate program in mass communication with subjects including General English, Current Affairs, Analytical & Logical Reasoning, and Media Aptitude.

IPMAT: The Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) which is conducted by IIM Indore for their five-year Integrated Program in Management in which BJMC is a part.

AMU Entrance Exam: Aligarh Muslim University holds its BJMC program admission exam to check the competence of candidates in English, General Knowledge, and Media Awareness.

KUET: Kalinga University Entrance Exam scrutinizes the needy candidates for admission to its BJMC program by testing their awareness in such areas as General Knowledge, Media Awareness, and English Language proficiency.

CUET: CUET (Christ University Entrance Test) is conducted by Christ University to select students for BJMC program on the basis of English, GK, Reasoning, Media Awareness.
