A Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Journalism and Mass Communication is a 3-year undergraduate course containing journalism, media and communications as its fields of focus. The course consists of both theoretical knowledge and practical training in journalism. It includes subjects like, media laws and ethics, reporting, editing, radio journalism, TV journalism, journalism advertising, public relations, corporate communications, media management, communication research and more. 

Students get access to a range of advanced skill units that involve research, media investigation, information gathering, writing, and digital editing of media content for print, broadcast, and digital media. The program offers the corresponding interdisciplinary courses in the humanities and social science too. Students are explicitly encouraged to take the learning process into their own hands through various hands-on experiences such as laboratory work, media projects and workshops that are carefully planned and supervised by faculty.

1. Educational Qualification

In order to be considered, applicants must have passed the 12th/equivalent from any field (Science, Commerce, Arts) of any recognized board with a minimum of 50% overall.

2. Entrance Exam

Most universities have a requirement for you to pass a test for entry in the course like BA Journalism and Mass Communication, which is covered by DU JAT. 

3. Application Process  

You are to fill in the application form by yourself with an option of offline or online filing of the forms accompanied by the required documents.

4. Interview Round

Interviewees that are listed must participate in these one to two interview and group discussion sessions that colleges will conduct.  

5. Fees

IIMC Entrance Exam (Indian Institute of Mass Communication): As IIMC's entrance exam questionnaire evaluates candidates on their concept of journalism, current affairs, and ability to write stories and analyze information.

FTII Entrance Exam (Film and Television Institute of India): Entrance examination for FTII scrutinizes students for awareness of media, film, television, current affairs & artistic display of emotions.

SIMC Entrance Exam (Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication): SIMC exam at the entrance level puts candidates through a test where their general knowledge on media, communication theories, and analytical skills is checked.
