The university of Kashmir is a public university situated in Srinagar, which is the administrative headquater of Jammu and Kashmir. It has been in existence since 1948 and its age makes it one of the oldest universities there in north India. The university boasts an array of undergraduates, postgraduates, and doctoral programs from the Schools of Arts, Business & Management Studies, Education, Law, Applied Sciences & Technology, Biological Sciences, Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Social Science, Medicine respectively. The college has the following two courses which are the most preferred courses, and they are the BTech Computer Science and Engineering and the MA English Literature. Generally, the university exams are conducted in the mid-term and final term each year, which takes place in November-December and May-June. Starting with the release of an admission notification and application form in early 2024, the admission process for the next intake of students, that is, 2024, will begin. We will be expecting the applicants to fill the necessary application forms and attend interview sessions where necessary. Then, basis of majority of programs would be performance. At this time students should submit their applications by the end of June or July. The applicants who have cleared the initial round will then be put through counseling sessions and they will be allotted the final seat and the admission. Our university is a product of the hard work and dedication of many scholars and alumni who have proven their worth through the strong academic heritage of our institution. The verdant nature of its green campuses offers a very appropriate place for the students to grow up in every way.

University of Kashmir Eligibility Criteria 2024
For Undergraduate Programs:
- 12+2 or equivalent education result from any recognized board/ university
- The minimum marks criterion required to be met by an applicant may change based on the subject of his/her choice of program. Students aspiring for B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. must secure 33% or above at 10+2.
- For some programs, like Engineering/Architecture, there may be extra conditions to be eligible for the program.
For Postgraduate Programs:
- An appropriate degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university with the major in it. To pass the course it is always 50% or above in grades (sometimes there is a slight variation in different departments).
- Some of the Masters programs (MTech amongst others) may have BTech degree as a prerequisite. Some bachelor's integrated Masters programs (e.g. MSc Biotechnology) can straight away consider students who have already completed 12th/Intermediate.
For Ph.D:
- Master’s degree in the governed subject with marks greater than 55% or equivalent grades.
- An academic score equivalent to RET plus and interview determine the students who are admitted to the university.

1. Check Eligibility
