The BEd in Mathematics or BEd in Mathematics Education is most often a 2-year long program in India, leading to the teacher training certificate. This degree prepares the students for teaching mathematics to classes 6-12 (Indian age grouping). Informally, the program was incorporated in the 1960s, when Kothari Commission stressed the need of providing pre-service teachers training in India. 

The BEd Mathematics program includes basic topics such as child psychology, teaching methods, and ways to improve the language to materialize the teaching goals for students. Mathematics topics range from teaching how to use teaching aids, carry out a lesson planning, assessment, and innovative ways to make math interesting to students. The students also undergo supervised mentorship in several schools in order to experience application of their knowledge and skills under the supervision of an expert teacher.

BEd Mathematics Admission 2024

The admission process for B.Ed. in Mathematics varies from institution to institution. However, there are some general steps that are followed by most institutions.

BEd Mathematics Course Eligibility 2024

dr1. Graduation

- A candidate should have done a 3 year bachelor's (after 10+2 these days or a 4-year course after 10th) from a recognised university/institution with not less than 50% of marks as an eligibility criteria.

2. Subjects Studied

- Candidate must be a good Mathematician having studied Mathematics either at the level of A-Level or BSc. for the whole duration of his/her study.

3. Entrance Exam

- Candidate is to get through specific state/university admissions process and might have to take B.Ed. entrance exam if it is suggested and be achieving the minimum marks.

4. Age Limit 

- Mostly, as a norm, there is a range from a minimum to a maximum age limit for admission to BEd programmes. It is usually between 18-35 years (varies according to a state government rule).

5. Other Documents

- The service of such documents like domicile certificate, medical certificate or any other certificates may be requested by the university/state as well.

ACT: The American College Testing is accompanied by a section in mathematics evaluating competency in the areas of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
