The university, Visva Bharati University is in Santiniketan, west bengal which was established by Rabindranath Tagore in the year 1921. It is designated as a Central University and is an Institution of National Importance. Visva Bharati is affiliated and has been given NAAC accreditation grade A from National Assessment and Accreditation Council. In the latest NIRF rankings 2023 for universities, Visva Bharati University stands 37 in the ranking.
It provides several undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in humanities, social and natural sciences, fine arts, music, and dance, among others. Visva Bharati offers a number of the most sought after courses like BA in Economics, Political Science, English, History, BSc in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, MSc in Environmental Science, MCA, BFA, MFA and so on. The admission is offered in May for the various courses in the university every year. Admission tests are carried out for some of the programs offered at the university. Other ways are also followed for the seat Allotment based on the National level exams such as JEE Mains, CAT, NET etc. The date to which applications are accepted for the admissions in session 2024-25 is usually in the month of July. The University examinations are usually conducted in June-July.
About placements and training opportunities for the students, it is worth mentioning that Visva Bharati University always offers rather good results. Some of the most sought after are government sectors such as UPSC, SSC; Banking sectors such as SBI, Axis bank; private companies including Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Tech Mahindra, IBM and many more. For freshers with a 2022 batch, the overall campus placement was 80% where the highest salary package offered was 18L per annum and the average salary package was 5L per annum for both UG and PG students. The university also maintains connections with organizations that provide internships and employment to the students. Both campus selection and pool recruitment drives comprise participation from various sectors of industries.

It is equipped with placement cell that ensure the students of the university get placements easily.The university is Visva Bharati University. Some of the Companies that regularly attend the campus recruitment are TCS, WIPRO, INFOSYS, DELLOITTE, ICICI BANK, HDFC Bank etc. The salary packages offered at Visva Bharati are also good where the maximum salary package offered is Rs. 8 lakhs per year and the minimum salary package offered ranges between Rs. 3 to 4 lakhs per year. Over the years the college has been able to secure placements for more than 60% of students who come from different courses such as engineering, commerce, sciences etc through campus placements. The placement cell also helps the students to fill up the off-campus forms and the form for the coaching of competitive examinations.
