University of Mysore Ph.D Selection Criteria

- Students should have obtained their Masters degree with at least 55% of marks or equivalent grade as a Post-Graduate. Along the lines of government regulations, concession is provided to reserved category aspirants.

- All the candidates willing to enroll must pass the eligibility test which is carried out by the University of Mysore. The test determines research skills and subject aptitude, analytical abilities and language proficiency of candidates.

- In the interview, candidates are rated bases of their interest in the research field, critical thinking abilities, and proposed research work as well as background knowledge in the specific field. The screening procedure put forward in this way is instrumental for the recruitment of candidates who demonstrate these characteristics and ensure that they are registered provisionally.

- Lastly, candidates will need to bring forward the research proposal of their dissertation, which as a prerequisite for being granted provisional registration. The university assesses the potential, scale and project novelty and decides which students to accept for the research of the proposal.
