The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) for admission into various undergraduate professional courses in the state. KCET offers admissions into fields like engineering, agriculture, veterinary sciences, pharmacy, etc offered by universities and colleges across Karnataka. The test consists of multiple choice questions from physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology subjects for students who have passed or are appearing for their 2nd PUC (class 12th) exams.

KCET 2024 is expected to be held in the month of June 2024, tentative dates will be announced later on the official KEA websites. Results typically are announced within a month of the exams. • Mechanics: Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Rotational Motion, Gravitation, Oscillations, Waves
• Electrostatics and Current Electricity: Electric Field and Potential, Capacitance, Current Electricity, Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Current
• Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer: Thermodynamics, Kinetic Theory of Gases, Heat Transfer
• Optics: Geometrical Optics, Wave Optics
• Modern Physics: Atomic Physics, Nuclear Physics, Semiconductors

Chemistry

• Basic Concepts of Chemistry: Matter, Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding, Chemical Calculations
• Physical Chemistry: States of Matter, Thermodynamics, Solutions, Chemical Kinetics, Electrochemistry
• Organic Chemistry: Basic Concepts, Hydrocarbons, Functional Groups, Stereochemistry, Polymers
• Inorganic Chemistry: Chemical Bonding, Coordination Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry

Mathematics

• Algebra: Sets, Functions, Relations, Matrices, Determinants, Calculus
• Geometry: Coordinate Geometry, Trigonometry, Vectors, Three-Dimensional Geometry
