Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, an institution of public state education, started its operations in 1983 and is situated in Amravati, Mahrashtra. Amravati University is a state university where colleges are affiliated to 400 colleges that are spread across Amravati, Akola, Buldhana, Washim, and Yavatmal districts. To offer the programs, the university provides courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels that cut across faculties of Science, Social Science, Commerce, Law, Education, and Management. The university faculty of management studies offers two popular programs, the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and the Master of Computer Applications (MCA). The BBA course has two levels of focus, the first on the core business concepts like accounting, economics, and finance; the second on the practices and operations in real-world business scenarios. The MCA which is a course which is highly desired by the IT and the computer elite. For these programs, the online one among the rest, the annual exams will take place during the period of the months April to May each year. From May next year student admission processes for 2024 will be started. The application process involves the candidates filling application forms online or by visiting the offices and paying the application fee. One can get advantage of the admission process through qualifying tests like CET, merit or counseling sessions. The institute is named after social reformer Sant Gadage Baba who was a social reformer ad greatly helped those who were poor and downtrodden in the state Maharashtra in the early 1900s. - BA, Bsc, BCom programs- 10+2 or equivalent minimum qualification from a recognized board. Cut-off varies with program.

- On the B.Ed program - Graduation in given discipline and the qualifying percentage criteria which differs for general and reserved candidates.

- In case of post graduation programs such as M.A, M.Sc, M.Com - just minimum percentage of 40- 50% depends on program and category.

- For MEd program - BEd degree without less than 50% of the marks is an eligibility. Relaxation for reserved categories.

- Diploma and Certificate programs - passed 10 + 2 from recognised boards for this. Percentage criteria may apply.

- MPhil and PhD – Post graduation in the relevant subject which secures at least 55% marks. Relaxation for reserved categories. Exhibition and interviewing may used as well.

- Admissions into varied undergraduate and postgraduate studies are made under faculties of arts, commerce, science, education, law, position and many more.

- For the undergraduate level, admission into these institutions is judged significantly on the basis of HSC (10+2) academic performance level. Among some of the programs, there may be additional entry contingents.

- For PG courses, admissions are done by the private university through PET, MET, or CET conducted in the state level, for example. Others programs too give test scores also along with the academic performance of the student.

- Admission's online registration is the process. The students have to hand up filled-in application forms, by indicating the preferred program.

- To be able to make an application process fee payment, students have to choose either online or through dedicated banks that accept university payments. Application must be completed in advance on the stated due dates.  

- Students can check their reservation status through merit, availability of seat and reservation policies while the departments announce provisional admission lists periodically. Upon being picked, students have to give the necessary documents for verification as well as pay the given fees by the given period.
