Anna University of Technology Madurai, popularly known as AUTM, was started in the year 2010 and is an affiliated college to the Anna University. It is also approved by AICTE and accredited with UGC under the 2f and 12B criteria of regulations. The university has received an academic accreditation from NAAC with an ‘A’ Grade and has appeared 101st in NIRF India Rankings 2023. 

AUTM is involved in providing education in engineering technology architecture & applied sciences at undergraduate and post graduate level. The college offers B.E/B.With 7 disciplines in technology – Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Information Technology. In addition, M.E/M.Tech and MCA also have multiple specializations available for the students. The examination date odd semester is november 2023 while that of even semesters is April 2024. Admission process includes entrance exam held by the Anna University and the other is the counselling process. The next admission cycle is for the next academic academic year and the applications are received between March and July 2024.

Placement records of AUTM has observed upward trend with more than 210 companies visiting the campus for placements in placement season of 2022-23. Some of the major recruiters in various streams are Infosys, TCS, CTS, Wipro, Accenture, L&T, Bosch with more than 85% of eligible students placed. The maximum number of placements that students got were in the salary package of 16 LPA while the average salary package that students got was of 4.2 LPA. Major industries that compete for students include IT/Software, manufacturing industries, automobile industries, consulting industries and finance industries.
