Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions

The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) is a well known entrance test conducted by the Director of Technical Education Department (DoTE), Tamil Nadu for those candidates who want to enroll in the engineering colleges under the Tamil Nadu State. This  exam covers the topic of  CS12 and students have to appear for question papers of subjects such as physics, chemistry and mathematics. 

TNEA exam is a common MCQs in a CBEx format which is usually conducted in the month of July-Aug and every year. Right after the exam are over, qualified students are allocated chances to study in prominent Tamil Nadu engineering colleges by considering exam marks, category proofs, points etc.

Educational qualification Passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exam or equivalent from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for General category candidates, 45% marks for Backward Classes (BC) category candidates, and 40% marks for Most Backward Classes (MBC), Denotified Communities (DNC), Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Differently Abled (DA) category candidates.
Subjects Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects in qualifying exam.
Age limit Between the ages of 17 and 25 years as on December 31, 2023 (born between January 1, 1998 and December 31, 2006).
Additional requirements Depending on the category and course. For example, candidates applying for Marine Engineering must have passed the HSC exam with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in PCM subjects.

How to Apply For TNEA Exam 2024?

1. Registration: Log on to the official www.tnea.net website and register with your basic identity information like your name, date of birth, email and phone number. Later you will receive a registration number.

2. Fill Application Form: With using registration number apply for TNEA and then log in to fill the TNEA application form attentively. Be sure to adequately represent all your academic details, upload your documents that are scanned.

3. Make Payment: Pay the application fee online using credit card, debit card or net banking. In case of SC/ST/SCA category, it is less.

4. Submit Form: Ensures revisions for details during the revision process. Cross check and submit. Take out the confirmation page with you.

5. Slot Booking: We will confirm your booking details once your form is submitted. You can then proceed and book a time slot on your preferred date and time for certificate verification.

6. Certificate Verification: Report to the facilitation office as per your slot for universally accepted certificate verification. Carry all original documents.

7. Rank List & Counselling: Students' merit will be defined by their scores; eventually a ranking list will be produced. Maintain your rank and appear at the counseling session as per the scheduled time before deciding on a particular engineering college/branch.
