The IPU CET (Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test) is an entrance exam conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University for admission into various undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered by its affiliated colleges in Delhi. It is a computer-based entrance test held 3 times a year – in May, June, and July. IPU CET is conducted for various subjects like engineering, law, management, mass communication, dental, and pharmacy. The exam pattern consists of multiple-choice questions testing logical reasoning, English proficiency, and knowledge of the subject area. 

Based on marks scored in IPU CET, separate merit lists are prepared for different courses and participating colleges. The results of IPU CET are generally declared within a week of the exam. For admissions in 2024, the tentative exam dates will be announced by the University soon but it is most likely that the exams will follow a similar schedule and be held in May 15-30, June 10-29 and July 10-27 for the academic batch of 2024-29 with the results expected soon after each test phase.

Section I: Aptitude Questions in the field of Management and Communication Skills

• Quantitative Aptitude: Number Systems, Arithmetic Operations, Algebraic Expressions, Geometry, Mensuration, Time and Work, Simple Interest, Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Ratio and Proportion, Mixtures and Alligations, Time Series Analysis, and Correlation and Regression.
• Logical Reasoning: Syllogisms, Analogies, Blood Relations, Coding and Decoding, and Data Interpretation.
• General Awareness: Business and trade awareness of world and India, general awareness, general geography, general economic study, general polity, general science, general computer science, sports and awards, current events.

Section II: General English

• Reading Comprehension: Comprehension of passages and factual accounts.
• Grammar and Usage: Sentence Structure, Parts of Speech, Tense, Agreement, and Usage.
• Vocabulary: Meaning and usage of words.
• Writing Skills: Paragraph writing, Essay writing, and Letter writing.

Section III: Reasoning Ability Including Data Interpretation

• Data Interpretation: Bar Graphs, Pie Charts, Line Graphs, and Tables.
• Logical Reasoning: Syllogisms, Analogies, Blood Relations, Coding and Decoding, and Puzzles.
