The BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT) is a specialized aptitude test used at many universities in United Kingdom, Singapore, Spain, Thailand and Netherlands for the purpose of selecting Medicine, Biomedical Sciences and Health Sciences undergraduate degree students; it is based on the ability of critical thinking. The BMAT is intended to examine in a candidate the skills of solution, the level of thought, forming understanding of basic principles of Science and Math, and the ability to write an essay with correct language and correct grammar under pressure.
The BMAT consists of two sections: a multiple choice section, which is taken under a time limit of 60 minutes, to test both cognitive skills and scientific knowledge, and a short essay writing section, where the candidates use 30 minutes to compose an argumentative essay focused on a given theme.
