The BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT) is a specialized aptitude test used at many universities in United Kingdom, Singapore, Spain, Thailand and Netherlands for the purpose of selecting Medicine, Biomedical Sciences and Health Sciences undergraduate degree students; it is based on the ability of critical thinking. The BMAT is intended to examine in a candidate the skills of solution, the level of thought, forming understanding of basic principles of Science and Math, and the ability to write an essay with correct language and correct grammar under pressure.
The BMAT consists of two sections: a multiple choice section, which is taken under a time limit of 60 minutes, to test both cognitive skills and scientific knowledge, and a short essay writing section, where the candidates use 30 minutes to compose an argumentative essay focused on a given theme. Particularly, universities use the BMAT along with the subject matter has to help them understand the candidate's general expertise and suitability for the highly demanding courses in the fields of healthcare.

- Valid passport or proving your age and identity with your national ID card. This has to be the original document (no copies, photocopies, electronic documents, etc.).
- Digital identity document which meets the minimum BMAT standards. Registrants will be able to do so during the registration period. This is done to ensure that the platform is designed based on the actual needs of those who use it.
- Debit/credit card for purposing of the registration fees of BMAT. The fee schedule for 2024 is yet to be published. However, typically the sums for the UK and EU citizens are £55 whilst for applicants from abroad are around £85.
- In this case, the proof of the presence of a disability or illness is a fundamental element for receiving any special accommodations / assistance from the examination.
- In addition to that, certain universities may additionally demand the submission of further documents such as photocopies of their transcripts, personal statements, etc. which would be a part of the admission procedure after taking BMAT.
