The M.Sc in Interior Design is an extended period of 2 years of full-time residence on the topic which covers the art of designing, planning and executing the interior spaces. The curriculum constitutes more sophisticated concepts and skills in interior designing in terms of design principles and theories, visual communication, building systems, sustainable design, etc.

The studio-based projects educate students in applying their interior design concepts to address the real world problems. They can handle creating plans of interiors with computer-aided design, building information modeling, and other graphics and visualization software. The course of study usually combines the design studios, technical courses (like construction of buildings, services, materials, etc.), history of interior design, design process and methods, professional practice, internship, and a master´s thesis.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Interior Design) Eligibility

1. Having a 50% aggregate in interior designing, architecture or any related field from a well-recognized institution is essential to obtain a bachelor’s degree at the minimum. Job seekers are welcome but should meet at least two years workforce experience to be considered for the application.

2. Some colleges may require entrance exams like NATA or CEED in order for the candidates to qualify. Through such exercises, students are honing skills like drafting, observation and design craftsmanship.  

3. A design portfolio with around 10 best-of-my-results and a statement of purpose can be the application enclosure. This gives an idea of their capacity to put themselves forward.

4. Applicants are usually interviewed to determine their aptitude for college life and the courses, and what their future plans are. Interviewer’s performance also is an essential factor that the candidate selection process depends on.

Technical Skills Assessment: A candidate's demonstration of knowledge in software tools like AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite, which is crucial for interior design.

Portfolio Review: Evaluation of candidates sketches, renderings, and previous projects strengths and qualities.

Interview: Estimating the motivation, communication skills and knowledge about interior design principles and practices from the candidates.
