The four years long BE course in Mechanical Engineering is a four-year bachelor degree in engineering. The mechanical engineering field is aimed at the creation of mechanical systems - their design and development, testing, production, and maintenance. Subjects covered by BE Mechanical Engineering Syllabus like engineering mechanics, strength or materials, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, machine design, power plant engineering, industrial engineering, CAD/CAM, automation and robotics etc.
Some of the core subjects covered in the 4-year BE Mechanical program are: The subjects include Maths, Physics applied to engineering, Chemistry for engineering purpose, Engineering graphics and mechanics, thermodynamics and heat transfer, fluid mechanics, basics of electronics and applying principles of metals in different products, industrial engineering, product design and development and mechatronics.
Step | Description |
---|---|
1. Eligibility | Pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Some institutions may require a minimum aggregate score of 60%. |
2. Entrance Exam | Appear for an entrance exam, such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced, or BITSAT. |
3. Counseling | Attend counseling and choose your preferred institutions and programs. |
4. Admission | Admission will be granted based on your rank and the availability of seats. |
1. Pursuing 12th grade or linked in the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects.
2. Equivalent to 12TH in CBSE is 60 -70 % in most colleges/universities.
3. The performance in JEE main or state/national level entrance tests for engineering will be one of the criteria for placement in the R&D program.
4. For admission to some colleges the candidate should compete only with the higher holders of the other tests, while for others he should also showcase his interview performance, extracurricular activities and etc.
5. For advanced entry to 2nd year of BE, candidate should have done 3 years engineering with a relevant stream which can be engineering diploma in discipline like Mechanical, Production, Automobile.
JEE Main: Joint Entrance Examination Main does an initial evaluating of applications for admission to various Engineering programs including the BE in Mechanical Engineering, checking levels of physics, chemistry, mathematics and aptitude to apply for engineering study.
BITSAT: Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test is a kind of Engineering BE Test that admits students for their respective programs which include Mechanical Engineering that covers physics, chemistry, mathematics and logical reasoning.
VITEEE: Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Aptitude Exam is a gateway for admission to the VIT University programs, including the B.E. (Mechanical) option, which cover physics, chemistry, mathematics, and English proficiency among other basic requirements.
SRMJEEE: SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Exam takes hold of the selection of applicants spanning across SRM Institute of Science and Technology, BE for mechanical engineering, among physics, chemistry, mathematics and aptitude.
State-Level Exams: The different state-level engineering entrance examination, as well, assess candidates for admission to BE Mechanical Engineering programs, which includes topics like physics, chemistry, mathematics and thereafter, specific courses state-wise.
