The B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) in Physics is a 2 year programmed education course in India which equips student to become physics teachers at the secondary and higher secondary school level. Applicants are expected to posses a relevant Bachelor Degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in physics.
Both theoretical and applied areas are covered under the BEd Physics curriculum. Learners examine the bases of education such as psychology, ideas, sociology, and the history of education. One of the aims of physics education pedagogy is developing your teaching methods, the process of instructional planning, assessment, and using technology for purposeful physics teaching. The classes on subject knowledge would include mechanics, electromagnetism, modern and nuclear physics, electronics, etc. Practicums, internships, and classroom observations will be the practical teaching ordeals.

Course Level | Undergraduate |
Duration | Typically 4 years (eight semesters) |
Eligibility | Completion of senior secondary school (class 12) with Science stream (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) and a minimum percentage requirement |
Entrance Exams | Admission may require entrance exams specific to teacher education programs in your country |
1. Eligibility: Applicants shall be expected to possess a Bachelor's degree in Physics with a minimum aggregate of 50% in the final examinations in a recognized university. Certain universities will demand the candidate to have a certain score in the entrance exams like CTET / TET.
2. Admission Process: The candidates are selected on the basis of merit lists prepared by considering their scores attained in their bachelor's courses. Some colleges would hold entrance exam after which students appearing in the exam would need to participate in the counseling session for final admission.
3. Fees: The tuition fees of B.Ed physics branch under government colleges is considered as ranging from INR 5,000 to 15,000. The main competition of private colleges they charge heirer compared to INR 1 lakh annually excluding miscellaneous cost.
4. Duration: B.Ed degree is a 2 year long program consisting of both theoretical and practical education, internships or teaching practicums in schools affiliated with our program. Some institutions on the basis of their program design offer integrated 4 year B.Sc + B.Ed Physics.
5. Scope: This program prepares graduates to teach science teachers/lecturers in government/private secondary and higher-secondary schools. Through clearing eligibility tests, one can achieve that. The possibilities also abound in the field of teacher education, curriculum development etc.
1. Interested candidates must possess Graduation (Bachelor's degree) in Physics, or related disciplines like Electronics, Computer Science etc. with minimum 50% marks from a recognized university.
2. Students for special groups must secure minimum 45% marks in bachelor level. Hence, some colleges of university 5% marks may be relaxed for reserved categories.
3. I think that a course “Physics” would be an excellent choice as the major at least for 2 years during my training. Those, who are from the allied disciplines like Biology and Mathematics, have to have studied Physics up to higher secondary (12th standard).
4. It is a mandatory Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for all teachers in schools operating under the supervision of the state or the central government. In some cases, university admission without TET clearing requirement is allowed which a student has to do by the end of course.
5. Age of no importance is criteria for admission in BEd course. One can either be a fresh candidate or working.
6. Some universities have their student's entrance examination and some admission by the undermentioned grade marks. The admissions criteria might differ among different universities.
CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test): National Eligibility Test for teaching positions in India. Paper-II tests the candidates who wish to teach classes VI to VIII, which includes subjects such as Science, which has a Physics component.
TET (Teacher Eligibility Test): State test for teacher jobs. Within Paper II, the skills of the candidates at the secondary level of teaching Sciences subjects can be tested that include Physics.
