National Institute of Industrial Engineering 2024: Admission, Courses, Fees & Rankings

NITIE Mumbai is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of HRD, Govt of India for the education and training of professionals in the field of Industrial Engineering. It has approval from the AICTE and is recognized by the Government of India. National Industrial Training Institute, Mumbai also known as NITIE Mumbai has been awarded with NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) Grade ‘A’. NITIE Mumbai ranked 13th among engineering institutes in India in NIRF Rankings 2023 which has been recently announced.  

Several postgraduate programmes are taught in NITIE Mumbai, which focuses on the Industrial Engineering and Management. The main and most popular courses available are the 2-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management and PGDM in Industrial Engineering. Other programmes include post graduate PG programme in Manufacturing Management and Operations Research & Systems. The admission process for admissions to the 2024 batch will be initiated in October 2023. The candidates undergo written test (CAT/GMAT) to be short listed followed by group discussion and personal interview sessions.  

NITIE Mumbai is widely recognized for its 100% placement every year and includes many popular and top companies. More than 90% of students get placed in the top consulting, analytics, supply chain, manufacturing, infrastructure-based companies. The median for the salary offers was 57.6 lakhs per annum and the maximum salary offered in the year 2023 was 58.6 lakhs per annum. This is for the large companies like Accenture, Adani Group, Alvarez, BCG, Cisco, Deloitte, Flipkart, IBM, ITC Infotech, Maersk, McKinsey, RIL, Tata Group, Uber, and several PSUs. The salary structures vary depending on the position being offered and the scale of the company, however, the estimated average cost to company for a candidate could be anything between INR 16-18 lakhs per annum.

National Institute of Industrial Engineering Placements 2024

National Institute of Industrial Engineering Mumbai is widely renowned for having good placement records among renowned organizations. The maximum salary offered during NITIE Mumbai placements in 2022 is Rs 32.4 LPA in consulting firm BCG. The median salary offer was Rs 21.2 lakh per annum. The other highlights of the placements included an annual salary of up to Rs. 1 crore offered to three students and the highest monthly stipend of Rs. 3.5 lakh during internships. Some of the major companies that participated in the placements were Accenture Strategy, Bain & Company, McKinsey & Company, Tata Steel Limited, Mahindra & Mahindra, HDFC Bank Limited, Amazon among others. According to the IIT Kharagpur placement statistics, more than 90% of the 2021-23 batch got the placement through campus interviews. There were consulting, operations and supply chain management, Information Technology/ Analytics, finance, and other general management jobs where NITIE graduates were placed.
