Eligibility:
- The applicants should possess a master degree in the respective field with at most 55 percent marks or equivalent grade.
- For medical subjects, candidates having MBBS or MBBS degree are also eligible to apply. They have to have concluded the obligatory rotational clinic relocation.
Documents Required:

- Attach the 10th, 12th mark sheets and certificates along your resume.
- The certificate of MBBS/masters and the transcripts would be required.
- Upon completion of internship (for MBBS aspirants) a certificate will be presented.

- The candidates should be having Masters degree in the suitable subjects (Medical Sciences for PhD in medical field with 55% as minimum aggregate marks).
- For getting into PhD program, PGIMER conducts an entrance test with selection of multiple-choice questions on research methodology, biostatistics, life sciences, and medical ethics etc. The shortlisted candidates have to take part in an interview.
- The final selection is based on the candidate's performance in the written examination, interview and the other parameters which include credit score, research experience etc. The highest weightage is given to the performance in the entrance test and interview.
- Applicants are required to formulate a research proposal concurrently with their applications. Quality of the research proposals is also considered in the selection process.
- There is the quota category for candidates with the experience of working in research/teaching fields on relevant specialties and recognized institutes.
- Seats are allowed for the candidates from reserved categories as per the enumeration provided by the government.
