The PG exam Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of medical education and research (JIPMER) is a national level entrance test organized every year to provide admissions to PG degree course offered by JIPMER located at Puducherry and Keulakkunram respectively. The examination is very competitive one among over 40000 candidates appearing for around 200 seats which is normally limited by the number of students enrolled each year.
The JIPMER PG examination covers subjects of human anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, community medicine, forensic medicine, pharmacology, pathology, and general medicine and surgery, all based on the Syllabus studied during the MBBS course. The test structure includes 200 multiple choice questions and students will be given a time limit of 3.5 hours to complete it. The rule of the deduction of 0.25 marks for every wrong response is used.
