The Gujarat PGECET (Postgraduate Engineering Common Entrance Test) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by GTU (Gujarat Technological University) on behalf of institutes in Gujarat. It seeks to offer ME/MTech/MPharm programs. Only candidates who have completed their post-secondary studies in the applicable branch of engineering or pharmacy with a minimum 50% aggregate score can apply for the job. An aptitude test of primary admissions in Gujarat state is conducted through MCQs of 120 numbers in total from diverse engineering topics like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Pharmacy. The admissions would be based additionally on GATE/GPAT scores apart from the examination scores.
That academic year, more than 6000 students from the PGECET which was held in June, appeared for the test. Results were available for at least three weeks. According to the schedule for 2024 - online application forms will be out in March and April, admit cards can be downloaded in May, then exam in June's second week and results will be announced in first week of July. The tests are held in the capital city as well as nine other cities in Gujarat where the polling booths are situated. Preferred ones take part in state-wide centralized procedure of counseling on the basis of their merit. In new year, students are admitted by July end to start new academic session in August.
