Andhra Pradesh Diploma in Elementary Education Common Entrance Test

DEECET or Andhra Pradesh Diploma in Elementary Education Common Entrance Test, for short, is the common entrance test of Andhra Pradesh state. It is carried out by Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, every year. Also, candidates for admission into the D.El.Ed course, which is the diploma in elementary education, are the aim of AP DEECET

The test assesses the candidates for teaching ability at primary level with the subject areas general awareness, teaching skills, reasoning ability, general English, and Telugu/Urdu. Usually, the DEECET examination consists of 200 objective multiple-choice questions, which are meant to be solved in 2 hours and 30 minutes. The mode of delivery is English & Telugu. 

The competition for the exam is stiff because there are many candidates (thousands) every year for the available slots (limited number). This mark sheet contains a part-wise grade as well as its collective score. The AP AP DEECET 2024, planned to be conducted in June, to be followed by announcement of results by the DSEAP in July. The chairman will be allocating the seat and counseling both as per ranking-wise scoring and category. The school authorities then select those candidates who are willing to do the diploma course for 2 years and become eligible for elementary school teachers in AP schools.

AP DEECET Qualifying Exams 2024

AP DEECET Reservation of Seats 2024

The AP DEECET Reservation of Seats 2024 provides reservation of seats for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). The total percentage of reserved seats is 60%, with 15% reserved for SC, 7.5% for ST, 27% for OBC, and 10% for EWS. The remaining 40% of seats are open to candidates from the general category.

Documents Required for AP DEECET Exam Registration 2024

- Aadhaar Card (UID): Applicants must fill the online forms with their Aadhaar number. The copy of Aadhaar ID may be required to submit at the examination centre or during admission procedure.

- Proof of Age: Paperwork may be the birth certificate, SSC certificate and every government issued ID Card stating the date of birth in question. As such, age requirement is the condition that the eligible candidate should be able to provide the verification.

- Educational/Qualification Certificates: According to the category being governed, candidates may represent copies of certificates validating relevant qualifications as proof. For example, for candidate applying under general category, Class 4 or above pass certificate would be the minimum.

- Caste certificate (for SC/ST candidates): As for SC/ST category candidates, the upload of the valid SC/ST caste certificate, approved by competent revenue authority is a must for every individual seeking reservation.  

- Income certificate (for BC/EWS candidates): Competent revenue authorities' valid income certificates along with the BC/EWS category provided under reservation criteria, which are required to obtain.

- PH certificate (for PWD candidates): Persons with Disabilities (PWD) candidates are required to submit medical disabilities certification issued by competent authority of Medical Board along with applications.

- Local status certificate (if applicable): A document that the board of trustees will issue, and it will be called Local Certificate, for those who claim admission under the local quota.

- Passport size photos: Uploading photo will also be candidate's duty, it should be in the given technical specification.
