The MBA in financial management is a 2-year full-time postgraduate management course with specialized subject areas in financial and management fields. Blending of content enables the curriculum to offer solid grounding in the fundamental areas of business that include finance, accounting, economics, marketing, operations, and statistics, and strategy. The school skills foster critical and choice making skills in students for leadership positions within the finance profession across all sectors. The time taken for completion of the program in most cases is 2 years’ time divided into 4 semesters with each semester being 6 months in duration. Among such subjects that are taught to the students, there are such financial management subjects as corporate finance, investment analysis, security analysis, portfolio management, derivatives, international finance, etc. 

The entrance tests that are accepted to offer admission to MBA Financial Management are CAT, CMAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA, GMAT, etc The most preferred test scores are CAT and CMAT where many of the leading MBA colleges accept students scoring above 90 percentiles in CAT and above 175 in CMAT. Candidates who have scored above 700 in GMATs are also given priority especially for admission into premium international business schools. Apart from the entrance test, the performance of candidate is measured for the shortlisting on the basis of academic achievement, work experience and other assessment made during group discussion and interview.
