B.Sc. in Agriculture (BSc Agriculture) is a 4-year undergraduate degree program majorly deals in the scientific study of crop and livestock production, soil science, agricultural economics and other disciplines related to the same field.
The program introduced formally during the early British rule period, while on the other side the agricultural training in India is there since late in the nineteenth century. To start with, some of the founding agriculture colleges have been set up in Pune (1907) and also in Kanpur (1911) apart from Coimbatore (1911). With the passage of time the number of universities and colleges dedicated to agriculture in India grew up to such high numbers.

1. A pass candidate of 10+2 or equal with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology as principle subjects from a recognized board. An aspirant must secure only 50% marks, i.e. 45% for students belonging to the SC/ST category, in all together the subjects above.
2. Certain colleges/universities would consider Biology to have been one of the main subjects studied in grade 10+2 other than the German language.
3. The candidates will not be nominated on the basis of age when they attend the B.Sc Agriculture program. Either fersher and old candidates with a gap year can apply.
4. The admission process considers the merit of the candidate that is determined according to the marks obtained by the candidate in the last qualifying examination(s). Certain institutions are actually organizing examinations for admission.
5. For full-time admission into some colleges/universities candidates have to qualify entrance agriculture exams like ICAR, State Agriculture Universities exams and so on written at the state or country level.
6. Reservations will be provided to reserved category candidates as per the prevalent government rules for the percentage cut-offs.
ICAR AIEEA (All India Entrance Examination for Admission): The exam evaluates the candidates in terms of subjects like agriculture, biology, chemistry, and physics. Its objective for judging the applicant's knowledge on the agricultural sciences as well as their scientific aptitude.
KEAM (Kerala Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Entrance Exam): Encompasses the physics, chemistry and biology agricultural topics. KEAM in particular determines candidates' aptitude in different subjects relevant to admission to agricultural programs in Kerala.
EAMCET (Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test): Incorporates divisions on physics, chemistry, and biology/agriculture. EAMCET is considered as the language test for students of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana who are interested in agriculture courses.
AIEEA (All India Entrance Examination for Admission) by State Agricultural Universities: Conducted by most state agricultural universities, it includes biology, agriculture, chemistry, and physics to assess students' readiness for ag studied programs.
JET Agriculture (Joint Entrance Test for Agriculture): Evaluates their understanding in agricultural, biological, chemistry and physics fields. It is preparing the student for agriculture courses in Rajasthan especially.
