Bachelor of Design [B.Des] Overview 2024 FAQs

A BDES is a 4-year undergraduate course that covers a range of design disciplines such as graphic design, fashion design, industrial design, interior design, and so on.

The curriculum features subjects such as design theory, visual communication, design history, drawing and sketching, computer-aided design (CAD), and specialized topics associated with the chosen design field.

Graduates may work as graphic designers, fashion designers, interior designers, product designers, UX/UI designers, design consultants, design educators, or freelancers in the creative industry.

Usually, BDes courses give students a choice between specialization directions. Students can specialize in a narrow area, for instance, graphic design, fashion design, industrial design, or interior design, and so on.

Indeed, hands-on activities like studio projects, internships, design workshops as well as industry collaborations are often an integral part of the BDes program to afford practical experience and application of concepts in real-world situations.
