General Surgery is a 5-year undergraduate Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), which deals with diagnostic and treatment of disorders involving jaws and  oral region. The oral surgery students are taught about oral pathology, radiology, anesthesia, pharmacology, and surgery related to both medical and dental specialties.

Curriculum comprises of class room lectures, labs where practical training is conducted and clinical rotations. In the clinical years, the students will study the fundamental basic medical sciences such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, and pathology, all of which is applicable to dentistry. While the later years entail the impractical part of clinical training that comprises different dental branches like oral medicine, oral radiology, periodontics, conservative dentistry, prosthodonics and oral and maxillofacial surgery.
