The one-year Advanced Diploma in interior design is a complete office training covering broad areas including interior design. To complete the training program, students will acquire the content-depth learning that includes structural knowledge of the design principles, architectural history, construction of buildings, space planning, the theory of colors, lighting design, styling, choice of materials, soft furnitures, and project management.

With the skill of translating client instructions into designs using technical drawing (including AutoCAD, Photoshop and 3D Max Studio) students learn to realize creative ideas in the physical world. Through studying case studies they master aesthetics, ergonomics, building codes, and how to behave in safe and eco-friendly ways. To hook the theoretical part with real life, industry visits are organized and capstone project is designed in which the students are asked to design residential, commercial spaces like hospital, office, restaurant etc.

Advanced Diploma in Interior Design Eligibility

1. An eligibility criterion is that the applicant has to be a passed out of +2 from a recognized board. Those who took the higher secondary examination passed successfully in any stream (Science, Commerce or Arts) are also eligible for this course.

2. The earlier proposal considers the admittance of the students who have completed the diploma in Interior Designing or Architectural Assistantship into second year of Advanced Diploma program.

3. Some institutes are offering admittance for those who had passed their classes 10 and had been in a job for 2-3 years in interior designing.

4. The program will be experienced by everyone regardless of their age. The course inappropriate to anyone.

5. Not only that, admission to some colleges/universities requires taking up the entrance exam which is a mandatory requirement to get enrolled.

6. However, some institutions take personal interviews as the final step of the admission procedure to determine the exclusive likability and competency of individuals who will like an interior design as a career.

7. Students may need to secure minimum passing marks in their previous exams. One will find the same across various colleges which require a minimum of 40-50 % marks in that exam.

8. Foreigners and NRIs can enroll for the class too.

Advanced Diploma in Interior Design Entrance Exams

NID Entrance Exam: Institution of National design conducts an aptitude test to evaluate design skills and creativity.

CEED: CED or Common Entrance Examination for Design is the test for the entrants which assesses their aptitude for design and imagination.

NIFT Entrance Exam: National Institute of Fashion Technology admits candidates based on their ability of conceptualization, creativity, and design skills.

AIEED: All India Design Entrance exam has a purpose of evaluating candidate’s creative skills and aptitude in the design.

IICD Entrance Exam: Indian Institute of Crafts and Design tests candidate’s creativity, craftsmanship ability and design prowess when selecting students.

UID Entrance Exam: United world Institute of Design tests inspirational skills, ability to design and perception of candidates visually.
