Eligibility
B.Sc is mandatory for M.Sc candidates in science. The minimum percentage of marks to be 50% ( 45% for SC/ST candidates).

Indira Gandhi National Open University Master of Science [M.Sc] Selection Criteria

1. Admission to M.Sc programs is on the basis of entrance test organized by IGNOU. Entrance exam is called OPENMAT.
2. The OPENMAT exam which is an entry exam is made up of multiple choice questions which evaluate candidates on general aptitude, comprehension, reasoning, and domains related to the specific M.Sc program.
3. Candidate needs to meet the minimum cut-off marks in the OPENMAT entrance test to be admitted. The cut-off may vary every year depending on parameters such as the difficulty of the test, number of applicants etc.
4. Furthermore, candidates are required to have an OPENMAT score and IGNOU's criteria of having a relevant Bachelor's degree with the minimum of marks mentioned in their program. Likewise, B.Sc Degree for 50% marks for admission to M.Sc programs.
