Dr. Harisingh Gour University previously known as University of Saugar, Sagar, is a Central University of India situated in the beautiful city of Sagar in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Founded in 1946, it is named after Sir Hari Singh Gour who was University’s founder and became its first Vice chancellor. The University holds the Grade A accreditation from the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council), and NIRF ranked the institution between 101 and 150 in the country in 2023. 

It provides a plethora of programs for the bachelor’s, master’s, and even doctoral degrees in various faculties of science, commerce, arts, education, engineering, law, and journalism. Some of the most practiced courses are btech, mtech, mbbs, bds, ba, bcom, bsc, msc, ma mcom, llb, bed and many others. The admission process of most of the courses is highly competitive that is through the common entrance examinations at the national / state levels. Some of the important examinations are NEET, JEE Main, CLAT, AILET etc. As far as entrance exam is concerned, it starts in the month of May every year. For the 2024 batch, specific date and schedule for all important events and examinations are still not released by the University.

The placement cell of Dr Harisingh Gour University works rigorously to get Campus Placement facilities every year for its students. Some of the leading companies and firms that have hired candidates from this University are TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant etc Some of the biggest firms and organizations come to this University for campus recruitment every year and more than 200 firms visit here every year. The maximum salary that can be offered is up to 18 LPA while the standard salary for the candidates range between 4-6 LPA. It is noteworthy that the University experiences the growth in placement and internship openings for students in the recent years. In the matter of placement rate, it remains high and above the 85% mark as per the latest records across branches.
