The RMCAAT, a computer-based test which is a part of a residency selection procedure that uses for the residency programs in the U.S., is utilized for the residency applicants. The RMCAAT is going to serve the purpose of creating a subjective and standardized scale for the assessment of applicants in the domain areas that is medical as well as clinical knowledge. The exam includes various question forms including multiple choice questions, short answer questions, placing question and highlighting questions across subjects including internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, surgery and others. The RMCAAT score is a scale from 1 to 77, where higher scores signify increased clinical knowledge, as well as enhanced critical thinking skills.
A minimum of 3 to 4 hours of exam time is consumed by applicants after which they get their test scores along with the report of their performance within 2 to 3 weeks. During the 2024 residency classification admission process, the deadline for registration is the 18th of September 2023 with students having 6 days computer-based exam window between the 2nd and the 28th of October at authorized testing centers nationwide. The scores are then validated and released to selection residency program on November 15, 2023.
