The Oil India Grade 3 examination is an entrance test that is organized by Oil India Limited with an aim of selecting candidates for various positions like Junior Assistant, Clerical Assistant and Junior Accounts Assistant. It is among the set exams that have the highest number of candidates sitting for it from the company. The Grade 3 exam is in three phases, namely the Preliminary phase, the Main phase, and the Computer Proficiency Test phase, the CPT for short. The preliminary exam has 120 multiple-choice questions which cover the areas of general information, math, logical and critical thinking, and vocabulary and grammar. Those who qualify the prelims face the main exams consisting of objective-type questions testing the candidates’ specialized knowledge as pertaining to the post. The CPT assesses typing and computer skills among the examinees.
The final merit list is compiled with the total marks secured by a candidate in the main exam and CPT. The previous Grade 3 year was conducted in 2022. Its result was declared in two months of the exam period. More than 35 thousand candidates were in the prelims stage from which only 1800 candidates emerged successful to reach the Mains stage. In reference to the Oil India recruitment for the 2024 examination it is anticipated that the Oil India official notification regarding the examination will be released together with the Oil India application form during the period of the October- November 2023. It is proposed to pass the exam in February 2024 for prelims, and the main exam in April 2024. Thus, only the final schedule can be said with certainty after the official notification is out.
