The National Institute of Fashion Technology, entrance exam, a national-level exam, is taken to seek admission in UG or PG design and fashion technology programs offered by the National Institute of Fashion Technology in India. The NIFT exam is one of the toughest of the lot with the number of applicants hovering around 50,000 to achieve the fewer than 2,000 seats. The exam that checks student skills in numerical ability, communication, general knowledge and enlightenment, English comprehension, logical reasoning and creative ability as well as mental perception and imagination is conducted through a written entrance test and situation test. The weighting is 60% for test of written while oral test weighs 40%.
This is the percentage that carries it on the overall merit. National Institute of Fashion Technology's exams are slated to be held in January 2024 in the third week. The result is scheduled to be published in the last weeks of March or the first weeks of the April 2024. Candidates who qualify in the selection test will have counseling rounds scheduled from June-July, 2024 post which they will finally be admitted. NIFT entrance examination is one such test that is believed to be one of the toughest design and fashion entrance exams in the national.
