Karnataka Diploma Common Entrance Test

The Karnataka Diploma Common Entrance Test (DCET) is state level entrance exam which is conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) for the purpose of admissions to various diploma programs in those institutions which are located in the state of Karnataka. Some of the diploma courses are such as civil engineering, automobile engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science engineering, electronics & communication engineering. The exam paper with the questionnaire is set as an objective type with 10+2 standard andMath's,Physics,Chemistry concepts as subject. Students wishing to get admission to around 420 government and private engineering colleges in the diploma course across the state are ranked according to their DCET results. Approximately 80000 test-takers fill out the exam every year. Concerning the 2024 batch, the office plans to hold the DCET exam in the first week of August 2024 at selected centers all over the districts of Karnataka. The time it takes for results to be released is about 3 weeks. The final list of ranks will be created from both the marks scored in DECT and qualifying exam (Class 10/12). Placement of seats is through the centralized counseling by KEA considering the aspirations, qualification, limitations and ranking.

Karnataka DCET Exam Day Guidelines 2024

- Be cautious and ensure you double check all information in your admit card like exam time, centre address, and a list of items permitted/prohibited to take to the examination hall. 

- Go to your destination at least half an hour or 45 minutes before gate should be closed. Then you need to be registered and follow the instructions. 

- Make sure you take your admission card and ID proof, clarify clarify the usage of the ballpoint pens and pencils and take along the erasers. Ensure items like mobile phones, smartwatches do not remain within the examination hall.

- Follow all the guidelines given by center office staff and the invigilators during provision of documents for verification, frisk, taken to the seat kindly etc. 

- Ensure that you provide all the required information on OMR answer sheet in a correct manner as that of the given sample. Go through question paper, be it the main part or the instruction properly.

- Organize and supervise the exam hall in a manner of discipline and silence. Being called out during an examination for plagiarism can result in disqualification. 

- Whether you feel like a script is out of sequence or a typo in the question paper, quickly report it to the invigilator.
