Karnataka Diploma Common Entrance Test

The Department of Pre-university Education (PUE) is the responsible authority in Karnataka to supervise and coordinate the Diploma Common Entrance Test (DCET) at the state level. DCET 2023 is a competitive entrance exam that is organised by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) annually for admissions into second and third semester engineering diploma programs offered The Deshbhakta College of Engineering and Technology (DCET) has been in operation since 2006 and students with 1st semester diploma results can directly join the institution via lateral entry. The exam is taken to measure students on physics, chemistry, mathematics, and English language competencies that are these necessary for a diploma engineering program. 

As a community college of technology in 2024, DCET is expected to be held in the second week of November, 2023. The application process commences normally 3 months into the future from August which translates to September. Students should pass the entrance examination for their application to be considered and results released in 20-25 days. The Coordination Metting where counseling sessions will start is expected to be held from 3rd week of December 2023. The stipulated time to conclude the entire admission formalities with various institutes shall be end of January 2024 and the classes for the new session will commence from then onwards.
