GNIHM Joint Entrance Test (JET) is a national level entrance exam which is hosted by National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), for enrolling students at various hotel management and hospitality programs. The exam tester students on typing ability, inference and aptitude, knowledgeability of English language and in latest affairs and hospitality industry.
The GNIHM JET is probably the most off-the-beaten-track hospitality management entrance examination in India. It is taken by over 50,000 candidates annually, competing for limited seats across 21 NCHMCT-affiliated institutes. The exam can be done once yearly with GNIHM JET 2024 being slated probably to be between the second week and first week of May, 2024. Scores are usually released less than a month after the test.
Under our Joint Entrance Test (JET) category, GNIHM candidates should attain at least 50% marks overall with 45% in each section. On the other hand, a list of candidates will be drawn separately as per the ranking, preferences and vacant seats in different colleges. Finally, the counseling session will take place to be led by NCHMCT in different cities and based on the allotment rules and as per the choices made by the candidate. The exam will provide an opportunity to demonstrate critical thinking and language skills that are the requirements for an individual to work in the hospitality industry, making it a competitive process.

1. Therefore, get ready as soon as possible, at least half a year to a year in advance. Acknowledging that the entire syllabus and topics are voluminous will expend time.
2. Go over the exam guide and its syllabus in detail. Familiarize yourself with the content, exam format, question types, and marking scheme so you will understand where to channel your energies.
3. Prepare notes from classic textbooks prescribed by the exam hiring authority. Group your notes by chapters/topics to start your review.
4. Solve previous years' question papers to know the question trend, what topics they focus much on and what frequently asked concepts are. Evaluate your errors to increase yourself.
5. Do practice tests to allot needed time for review. Taking mock tests will assist you in understanding how well you comprehend the course content and to focus on the areas with which you struggle.
6. Also spend time on improving your English grammar, vocabulary and comprehension as the mark rewarding language section has a high value.
7. Aim at improving the numerical, logical and analytical capabilities. These topics call for practicing regularly to increase the speed and yield precision.
8. Stay motivated. Develop a composed schedule. Make sure that you have given students enough time for a revision of important topics before the exam.
