The typical duration for PhD design course in India often takes 3-5 years. 1. The PhD in Sustainable Design Program where I will concentrate my research on packaging solutions for perishable foods in less developed countries 

2. On my Fulbright Scholarship, I partnered with farmers in Uganda to create affordable Sustainable containers for their produce. This subsequently reduced food loss and waste. 

3. The results determined that the banana leaf containers were well preserved within different environment confidences for over 2 weeks. 

4. In collaboration with you, my design and innovation PhD will be pushed further by testing and refining materials, structure and distribution processes to suit local requirements. The materials and resources will be optimized to fit each locality. 

5. My envision is a public domain by creating local food packing from sustainable and natural fibers, so that more people are involved in processing hunger by ensuring more nutritious meals for low-income individuals.

PhD Design Course Eligibility 2024

1. You should at least have a master's degree in Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, Interaction Design, Communication Design, or a related discipline. The design of the course should be from apt university, at least GPA of 3.0/4 or its equivalent grade. 

2. By the submission of a portfolio of created design work, which has to be graded on the basis of displayed creativity, problem-solving skills, user-centric design capabilities and knowledge of the design theory, the applicants will prove themselves truly capable of leading the process. 

3. Applicants need to submit a statement of purpose which is 1000 words long, emphasizing on the research interests and areas of expertise they would like to acquire during the PhD duration and two recommendation letters by professors or faculties who are intimately associated with and can vouch for the applicant's academic skills and design talents. 

Ph.D Design Entrance Exams

GRE (Graduate Record Examination): Tests verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and analytical writing skills, assessing readiness for doctoral-level study in design-related fields.

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): Evaluates English proficiency for non-native English speakers applying to design PhD programs.

GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test): Assesses analytical writing, quantitative, verbal, and integrated reasoning skills, often required for doctoral programs in design management or related fields.
