The Diploma in Horticulture is a 3 year diploma course on horticulture with an emphasis on the underlying science and aesthetic of fruits, crops, flowers, and ornamental plant growth. Students are trained on horticultural crops production and management that involves growing cultivating crops, postharvest handling and marketing.

The diploma program offers lectures in such practical issues as plant propagation, nursery management, soil science, irrigation, fertilizer application, plant pathology, entomology, post-harvest technology, etc. Students are exposed to lectures in the classroom, laboratory sessions through demonstrations, and visits to industries. The practical experience are received through field practical at demo farms and nurseries.

Diploma in Horticulture Admission 2024

1. The qualification is a pass out of science stream of 10+2 or equivalent examination from a approved board. 

2. Examination has been made the entry factor or admission could be directly done on basis of 10+2 merit scores.

3. Application forms can be found either on campus websites or gained directly from colleges.

4. The period of the course is 3 years, with 6 semesters consisting of both theoretical and practical studies in such areas as the development of plants, the science of soil, landscaping, etc.

5. The charges go from 20 thousand to 30 thousand rupees per year and covers only college or it’s facilities.

1. Educational Qualification

- Any stream of 10+2 passed in from a recognized university(Arts, Science, or Commerce).

2. Minimum Percentage

- At least 50% marks in 10+2 (as aggregate of all subjects or individually).

3. Subjects Studied

- Those students who have taken Agriculture or Biology at 10+2 are pre-qualified

4. Age Limit 

- The average age limit for taking a seat in the program is not usually designated.

5. Entrance Exams

- There are college that administer their own tests that is used as an admissions requirement while there are those that offer a direct admission to students who have completed their 12th grade.

ICAR AIEEA (All India Entrance Examination for Admission): The range of subjects tested includes Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture, and Mathematics/Agriculture Aptitude.

EAMCET (Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test): Evaluates candidates on their knowledge base in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture.

KEAM (Kerala Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Entrance Exam): Marks for the Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Agriculture subjects.
