The Diploma in Computer Science (DCS) is a 3 year course that is more skills based and which prepares students for the job market in computer science and information technology. The entry qualification required to obtain the admission in DCS program is Class 10 or equivalent passed with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Certain institutes may also have pre-requisites where the student must have taken Mathematics as one of the subjects in Class 10.

Entry requires passing an entrance examination set and administered by the institute or university that provides the DCS program. The Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (PolyCET) is the state level examination and there are exams for the lateral entry, where a student can get direct admission to the second year, and the exams are also organized by separate private and deemed universities. Except the entrance test, students are further judged on the basis of their Class X performance; they may even have to face an interview session.

How to Apply for Diploma in Computer Admission 2024?

1. Choose the schools you wish to apply to. If you are having difficulty in searching for a particular college or technical institute offering diploma courses in computers near your locality, try to do a little research online. Reduce down the list to a few choices based on certain criteria such as course offering, fee structure, placement etc. 

2. Ensure also to look at the requirements set by the institutions that you want to gain admission in. A majority of diploma courses admit candidates with 10+2 qualification with certain pass marks in science and math subjects. In addition to the above national and regional examinations, some colleges have their own qualifying entrance test. The first step is to ensure that you satisfy all the conditions of eligibility as per the criteria set by the university.

3. To apply for the diploma programs in the selected institutions seek for the application forms. Today, most institutions have also made it possible to apply online for colleges and universities through the institution’s website where you can easily download, fill and submit the form from the comfort of your home. 

4. Firstly, it will be advisable to read through the details and the guidelines where the application form is provided. Ensure you complete all parts as the form requires filling such as your 10+2 results, personal information, contact information etc. Affix photographs and other documents required like photocopies of passport, driving license or any other identification proof as the case may be and entrance test hall tickets if any.

5. It is also important to note that the application forms together with the program-specific application fees must be submitted to the respective institutions not later than the set deadline dates. In case of fees charges make the payment either online or through demand draft and save the receipts for the payments made.
