Bachelor of Fashion and Apparel Design, which is an under graduate degree course being offered for the candidates who are interested in the principles and process of designing fashion and apparel. The course deals with various concepts and aspects related to fashion and apparels including design concepts, apparel construction, draping, fashion pattern making, fashion drawing, CAD for apparels, fashion trends, type of tools that are used in fashion industry and basic understanding of garment manufacturing. In terms of the length of time, it takes to complete the B.FAD course, it generally takes 6 semesters or 3 to 4 years of study. 

The documents that are accepted for admission in B.FAD programme across colleges are NIFT, NID, CEED, UCEED, FDDI AIST, DAT and other state or university entrance exams. The majority of the tests involve the candidate creativity, his communication ability, his ability to solve numerical problems, his logical ability and his knowledge of concepts in the field through written test, drawing test and interview.
