The BEd in Natural Science is a 2-year specialized program which is educationally oriented to prepare students for science teaching in high school and higher secondary levels. The requirements in which students are eligible to apply for an admission must have obtained their Bachelor's degree in Science with at least 50% marks from a university that is recognized.
The course has both theoretical and practical elements in the Natural Science BEd curriculum. Students spend their time on courses in educational psychology, education philosophy, sociology and the history of education getting to know student psychology and the methods and systems of education. The core subjects are designed to be foundational for educators and are made up of areas such as assessment & evaluation, classroom management, science methods, instructional planning, counseling, and the use of media & computers in teaching.

Educational Qualifications: Generally, applicants must have finished a Bachelor's degree in Science with the focus on Physics, Chemistry, Biology and/or environmental science.
Minimum Marks Requirement: Usually, institutions expect candidates to have attained a minimum grade in their Bachelor's degree which is commonly between 50% to 55%.
Entrance Exams: Some universities or colleges may organize separate entrance tests for the BEd programmes with an intent of finding out the level of natural sciences and teaching aptitude of candidates.
Teaching Experience (optional): Although not always required, prior teaching experience or related extracurricular activities can enhance the applicant's profile.
Recommendation Letters: Candidates may be requested to have recommendation letters written by teachers or professionals who have experienced the competency and passion of the applicant for teaching natural sciences.
Interview: Some institutions will be conducting personal interviews in order to evaluate the suitability of candidates for the BEd that is focused on Natural Science, looking at their communication skills, subject knowledge and teaching philosophy.
CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test): Examining knowledge of the subject taught and the suitability for teaching in institutions run by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and held specifically for the teaching profession in central government schools in India.
SET (State Eligibility Test): State-level evaluation which is carried out by the state only in order to ascertain the subject content knowledge and capability for teaching in State-government schools within a particular state.
