B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) in Computer Science is a two-year teacher education program in India which is designed to produce quality teachers to manage classes 11th and 12th science computer science and information technology subjects.
The BEd in Computer Science Degree was introduced in the late 1990s when technology and computer science subjects were being integrated on to the secondary school Curriculum in India. It teaches students how to work with computers and program them. Moreover, students are able to keep up with the recent developments in IT area, develop pedagogical skills and teaching methods as well.

1. Graduate Degree: Candidates must be a holder of a Computer Science/BCA/IT stream with a 50% marks minimum (45% for the Other Backward Classes, Scheduled Tribe, and Scheduled Castes Classes candidates).
2. Entrance Test: Entrance exams to get a BEd degree can be conducted both by the or the state/national-level organization which can be the university or institute. Such as colleges may require the applicants to take their institution - unique entrance examination as well.
3. Age Limit: Generally, the institutes bound the age limit of the applicant to 28-30 years as the minimum eligibility criteria to apply for B.Ed course. Age-related reservation for higher age limit candidates was replaced from SC/ST/OBC candidates.
4. Teaching Subjects: The lesson of Computer Science / Information Technology & Computer Applications as a whole should be included in the completion of the course schedule. The rest of the subjects there can be chosen according to the academic criteria/senior secondary school rules of the stream.
5. Student Teaching: Candidates should get a student teaching of short term, with the prospect of becoming a part of the practical training of the program.
CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test): An All-India test for national level that evaluate teacher’s competency and subject proficiency in India. B.Ed is not only theory-based but needs to clear relevant papers, especially that one would be focusing on computer science and teaching methodologies.
NET (National Eligibility Test): A mainly instructing and researching role in India. B.Ed Computer Science applicants are required to be competent in the computer science paper when they want to be eligible as teachers.
SET (State Eligibility Test): Assessments of teachers and researchers taken in state level only. The students who selected B.Ed Computer Science must do well on the the computer science paper for this to teach.
