The Bachelor of Design (BDes) in Fashion Design is a four year U.G. programme that equips the students for both creativity and technicalities of fashion designing. Students acquire the knowledge regarding the fabrics, the garment sewing, patterns, draping, fashion illustration, accessories design, all the business aspects of fashion and much more. 

The program takes into consideration both Indian and international fashion designs, history, trends analysis and marketing. Students have real-world experience through internships and working with industries where they also build their own collections. Our studios, computer labs, sewing machines, and photography equipment and software like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator are all available.

Bachelor of Design [B.Des] (Fashion Design) Admission Process

Step Description
1 Meet the eligibility criteria for the B.Des. in Fashion Design program.
2 Register for and take the entrance exam(s) required by the colleges you are applying to.
3 Prepare a portfolio of your work to showcase your creative skills and ability to design fashion garments.
4 Submit your application forms and portfolios to the colleges you are interested in.
5 Attend personal interviews (if required).
6 Wait for the admission results.

Bachelor of Design [B.Des] (Fashion Design) Eligibility

1. -You should have passed 10+2 in any stream (Science, Commerce, Arts) from the institutions that have been accredited.

2. Anyhow, 50% or more will be needed for general students and 45% or more for reserved students of higher secondary level (10+2).

3. The entrance test would also be open for students of 12th standard who are ready to submit their marksheet by the specified date i.e. September 30th.

4. NATA score is the crucial one here which makes the cut. Contestants first have to pass NATA. This is a gateway test conducted by the Council of Architecture (CoA).

5. The grade 10+3 diploma holders of AICTE/state board of technical education are also included in the list of applicants by the same regulation.

6. For International students, the minimum parameters comprise of getting completion of a minimum of 12 years of school or equivalent and having minimum of 50% of aggregate marks.

7. For some colleges, the number of tests (entrance tests) that a student has to pass is countless.

Bachelor of Design [B.Des] (Fashion Design) Entrance Exams

NIFT Entrance Exam: The National Institute of Fashion Technology organised this exam for admission into the B.Des Fashion Design program, this exam evaluate participants' creativity, aptitude, and design skills.

NID Entrance Exam: The National Institute of Design conducts the test for the same purpose to find out how candidates are creative, how they can solve the problems and what their aptitude level for the fashion design is in the B.Des course.

Pearl Academy Entrance Exam: The design test evaluates and seeks the evidence of the candidates' creativity, visual interpretation, and communication skills during the application process for B.Des (Fashion Design) at Pearl Academy.

AIEED: All India Entrance Examination for Design assesses by candidates' design creative thinking, problem-solving capability, and aptitude for designing that could lead to admission in the various design courses including B.Des Fashion Design.

FDDI AIST: Footwear Design and Development Institute conducts this examination to evaluate the parameters which are creativity, design, and aptitude for candidates to be taken to B.Des Fashion Design program.

UID Entrance Exam: The objective of United World Institute of Design is to select applicants by their ability to designe, think critically, and pass the B.Des Fashion Design course into the course.

CEED: The Common Entrance Examination in Design checks out the applicants' level of aptitude in design, visual sense and creativity when admitting them to various course programmes such as the B.Des Fashion Design.

MITID DAT: This Design Aptitude Test is conducted by the MIT Institute of Design, to assess creative talent, problem solving and design thinking pupils for offering admission to its B.Des Fashion Design program.

SEED: The Symbiosis entrance test for design screens the creativity, design sense, and visualization of candidates for the B.Des programme in Fashion Design at Symbiosis Institute of Design.

UCEED: UCEED, the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design, is taken by students intending to pursue design courses, specifically the B.Des in Fashion Design, to determine their design aptitude, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
