BAMS (Bachelor in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) is a 5.5 year course in that country's unique traditional medical system known as Ayurveda. This module covers a full-range knowledge of Indian integrated healthcare practice to identify and alleviate disease through natural diagnostic methods and drugs. 

The syllabus moves back and forth between the ancient and modern medical sciences. It includes the study of ancient Ayurvedic textbooks and other modern medical science subjects like anatomy, physiology, pathology, forensic medicine, surgery, gynecology & obstetrics, toxicology, etc. Students get trained in diagnostic methods like pulse examination and use of natural medicinal products made up with herbal extract

BAMS Admission 2024

1. Mark the grades of at least 50% in 12th standard science stream, with subjects physics, chemistry, biology.

2. Must clear Medical common entrance exam i.e. NEET and to get admission in desired college or university student need to be above the mark(s) set out / prescribed percentile.

3. Clinical/individual counseling sessions that would determine the personality, interests, and aptitude towards becoming an ayurvedic physician should be arranged.  

4. You have to submit an application mentioning your marksheets, seat allotment letter of entrance test, photos, ID proof, etc. as per college guidelines. 

5. In general, selected applicants pay for entry, get mandatory medical certificate and fill in application forms within a specified timeframe.

BAMS Course Eligibility 2024

1. The admission minimum qualification of +2 or equivalent along with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as the main subjects with a minimum aggregate marks of 50%.

2. Those students who have done academics in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational achieve BAMS degree program admission. 

3. BAMS eligibility criteria does not contain any age limits among national homoeopathy commission criteria.

4. With some universities providing their own entering assessments for admission to BAMS, colleges also offer admission based 10+2 passing.

5. Students have to be clinically sound to get in and a medical check-up is done after the admission process per university/college rules for scholarship ruling.

Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery [BAMS] Entrance Exams

NEET (UG): National Entrance cum Eligibility Test for the MBBS and BAMS courses carried out by the NTA. Tests Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and the ability to write English.

AIAPGET: Nation-wide AYUSH PG Entrance Exam for MBBS, BAMS, and other streams of AYUSH course. This module has tests in various AYUSH subjects such as Ayurveda, Yoga, and Naturopathy.

State-level Entrance Exams: Run by different statutory bodies to get admission in BAMS courses all over the concerned states. The tests though varying in structure undoubtedly emphasize subjects like Ayurveda and medical sciences.
