1. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) - A national level test organized by NTA under which aspirants can get admission in various undergraduate dental surgery courses like BDS.

2. AIPMT – All India Pre Medical/Pre Dental Entrance Examination A national level qualifying examination for admissions into the Pre Medical/Pre Dental courses Now replaced by NEET. 

3. Dental and Medical Common Entrance Test (DUMET) – A popular entrance exam conducted by Delhi University for admission to dental colleges under Delhi University.

4. Army Dental Corps Entry – A recruitment drive organized by the Indian Army for candidates who are keen to become an Army Dental Corps officer on a Short Service Commission basis.

Dental Courses Eligibility Criteria in India 

1. Should have passed Class 12 board examination with science and specialty in subjects such as biology.  

2. A minimum cutoff percentage and good scores in written entrance tests for admission in BDS and MDS.

3. 4-year Bachelor degree is required to complete for BDS for practicing general dentistry.

4. BDS degree recognized by Dental Council of India and should have completed 1-3 years Master’s for specialized branches in MDS.  

5. After completing bds or mds you need license for private practice, for this you have to register with the state dental council.

6. Pass NEET-MDS to secure postgraduate specializations in dentistry through MDS.
