FBS (Food & Beverage Service) is a 1 year hospitality course that prepares students for various roles in the hotel and restaurant industry. Training includes everything from order taking and processing to execution of food and beverage operations. The program has a combination of theoretical and practical learning’s and offers training in all areas of food production, food and beverage service, managing guests, restaurants and banquets, housekeeping and front office operations etc.
Some of the subjects discussed include proper food handling and food safety, beverage pairing principles, food variety, customer service, accuracy, and quickness in taking and serving orders, food payment, finance, methods of delivering services to customers, keeping guest complaints under check, handling the staff, event and banquet planning, and operations.
1. Eligibility norm is that the Class 12th pass with any subject stream or the equivalent qualification.
2. No entrance exam and admission through the qualifying names on the mark sheet.
3. Online or offline application form designed for approval at the institute premises.
4. Hand in the form with attachments of 10th and 12th Marksheet and certificates.
5. The fee structure is made up of an admission fee, tuition fees, and a security deposit that are paid at the time of admission.
6. Course duration is 12 months composed of 2 semesters where theory and practical classes are held.
7. Placement in hotel or restaurants necessary to be included also in curriculum subjects.
1. Pass in 10+2 from any stream (sci/com/arts) from board that is a recognized one.
2. Students in the last year of schooling can have a chance to appear into the 10+2 exams too.
3. No age constraints but break as well between 18-23 years.
4. English communication skills are befitting
5. Having some experience in a hotel through internships is highly.
NCHM JEE: Assesses candidates' aptitude for hospitality management with sections covering Numerical Ability, Reasoning, General Knowledge, English Language, and Aptitude for Service Sector.
IIHM eCHAT: Objective is to assess candidates’ suitability for the hospitality industry by the means of the Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, and General Awareness sections.
AIMA UGAT (Under Graduate Aptitude Test): It is a comprehensive test containing four components: English, Numerical and Data Analysis, Reasoning and General Intelligence, and General Knowledge, which are all necessary for undergraduate programs namely Food & Beverage Service.
IHM Entrance Exam: Examines learners on subjects like English, Logical Deduction & Reasoning, Numerical Ability & Scientific Aptitude, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, and especially for those aiming at hospitality management with concentration on food and beverage.
Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) CET: Checks the candidates' capability in English, Reasoning, General Knowledge, and Hospitality Industry Awareness so that it creates an opportunity for various courses related to Hospitality industry including Food and Beverage Service Diplomas.
