Sarguja University situated at Ambikapur, the district headquarter of Surguja district is a state public university in the state of Chhattisgarh was established in 2008. Sarguja University will anew open postgraduate and graduate programs in the subjects of emerging fields, which were not here before. Thus, this university will offer new programs such as data science, cyber security, biotechnology, and sustainability studies by 2024. Starting with a student body of 5,000 students and program ranging from 30 degrees, the university aims to grow big by 2024.

The project will incorporate extensive redevelopment and infrastructure improvement works, which will include construction of new academic buildings, a state-of-the-art chemistry and biotech lab facility, an auditorium for 500 students and new student housing for 1,000 students. Sarguja university sets a goal of 100 PhD student pursuing different areas of studies by 2024. Partnering with private sector and multilateral bodies as well as foreign university networking is a great technique that can be used to expand the research and networking space, including sharing of knowledge and skills.
