Mangalore University Eligibility Criteria 2024

- For undergraduate programs: Be a pass-out of 10th + 2/ equivalent exam with minimum marks of different listed subjects or specializations.

- For postgraduate programs: Bachelor's degree in the appropriate major area, and with the required % of grade as well again varying with the institutions requirements. Some programs might have stricter regulations of who can qualify for the program.

- For MPhil and PhD: Master's degree with 55% compulsory and above. Candidates besides the exam, must also get through a test and a passage of interview. With the NET/SET qualification becoming essential in the case of PhD, there are other demands. 

- For diploma and certificate programs: 10+2 examination or Bachelor's degree that evolves through the customization of the program. The minimum mark can be set to differentiate the final grades.

Mangalore University Admission Process 2024

- Admission to higher degree classes are based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination such as 10+2 or its equivalent. There is a web portal, and students usually enter the required information and submit the form.

- Candidates are selected based on their marks in the PGCET as well as the mark they attained during their undergraduate years. Some programs may also require applicants to participate in additional interviews or aptitude reviews.

- Applications for programmes like Law, Education, Management etc. are done separately and specific tests may also be required. It is worthwhile to peruse the university website carefully for the requirements.

- The overall sex ratio is 393 girls for every 100 boys which also consists of quotas for reserved categories like SC/ST/OBC students. Remaining seats holds under these quotas are to a certain extent of percentage.

- Apps will be available from end of April or beginning of May each year and submitted through online mode. Submitting resumes is a must and extra documents have to be delivered to the college by registered mail or hand in person. 

- Admission lists are released by the Departments/Schools in addition to supporting the List of Merit. Certain students have to shell out the fee and secure their admission else the seats are either vacant or given to their replacement.

- A standardized testing round and interview round are the stages for the Ph.D courses admissions. Besides research proposal, the grant also requires it to be submitted and approved as well.
